Vector Control

A vector is an organism that acts as a carrier of pathogenic disease/bacteria which is then transmitted from one host to another; the disease/bacteria is dormant in the vector and does not threaten its survival. Vectors include mosquitoes, fleas, cockroaches and rodents. The Aedes mosquito, for example, is a vector as it transmits dengue fever/dengue haemorrhagic fever to humans.
